Holy Moley
This week in class we have learned about moles. Mr.Olsen taught us the mole is 6.02x10^23. A mole is a measurement scientist use to measure many different hings. This is described in the music video made by Mr.Olsen.

Organic Molecules and Isomers worksheet
In this worksheet I learned much about Organic Molecules and Isomers. I learned that each molecule can have a different Isomers. It was a great tool to use for helping me learn and understand the new materials.
Smells lab
The smells lab was very interesting. In this lab we had to smell many different things. This lab consisted of the different smells. Most of these smells didnt smell to good to say the least....
Lewis Dot Structures Worksheet
The Lewis Dot Structures worksheet was very interesting and helpful. In this worksheet we had to make Lewis dot structure for all the different combination of compounds. We used single bonds, double bonds, and triple bonds all to do this.
Polar Comic
In class we read about a polar comic. This polar comic was very interesting. The polar comic was about the polar bonds and electronegatity. These comics are very funny I learn a lot at the same time. It is a great learning tool.

Ions, light and Bond Types
Ions, Light and Bond Types we learned much about this past week. We learned of the three types of bonds the Metallic, Ionic, and Covalent. Also we learned much about Ionization energy which is energy required to release an electron from an atom. Also we learned about electronegativity which is a meausre of the ability of an atom in a molecule to attact electrons to itself.
Molecule Webpage
I have finished my Molecule Webpage about a week ago. My site offers a variety of different information of my molecule which was Riboflavin. The information I offer about Riboflavin includes: chemical formula, pictures of its molecular structure, molar mass, melting point, and many other interesting facts.

Visual Spectrum Lab
The visible spectrum lab was very good. It was very interesting to see the wavelengths and their different colors. The cool part was going to the library and graph the lab on Google docs. It was very interesting seeing the different colors on my Google docs graphs.
Google Docs
We have been using Google Docs in class. I personally think it is great to have web based documents. It is great to be able to go anywhere and be able to add my new information of chemistry to my google docs. The advantage of being able to do this is extremly helpful with its easy access and user friendly computer environment.

Fire lab and more....
In class this week we have done an flame lab and have been learning about atoms and energy. The flame lab was dipping a stick in different liquids and put it in the gas. Which caused different color flames. Also we had to guess what these liquids were.

Albert Einstien...
This week in class we haven't done alot of labs. We have been watching much about Einstein and his life. Learning that he was a great man and extremely important to the early information of science. Without Einstein who knows how long its would take to come up with the ideas he did.

Radioactive Half-Lives and More
In chemistry this week we did many different things. We first of all did a radioactive half-lives simulation. Where we started with 100 pennies and would flip them, then keeping all the tails as remaining and getting rid of all the heads as they were decay. We also watched a video about Einstien and it was very interesting. Teaching us about early chemistry.

Elements and the Periodic Table
This week we have done much with the elements and the periodic table. We are learning about the elements atomic mass, isotopes, protons, nuetrons, electrons and even thier symbols. We have learned about families and groups of elements. How their characteristics differ from different parts of the period table. We also practiced reading the number of protons and electrons and finding the neutrons from that.

Elements and atoms
This week in chemistry class we have learned much about Elements and atoms. Today we answered questions about elements and their information on the periodic table. Also we found out about thier characteristics and reactivity they give. These elements seem very interesting and I cant wait to learn more about them.

Chemistry week 1-2
My first two weeks of chemistry class has been amazing. I have learned very much from the vernier scale to the lab work. I most of all probably enjoyed the weighing of the objects on the scale. It was so interesting actually seeing how much an object weighed. I also enjoyed drawing the Class Safety Map on the graph paper. I enjoyed that very much. I also liked learning about mass and the scientific method.

Penny Lab
In chemistry we did a penny lab. The penny lab we did was very fun we tried to make the copper penny into gold. First of all we placed the penny in a cup full of Zn+NaOH. Which when we took it out the penny was gray. Then we heated the penny with the fire where it then turned to a shiny gold color. It was the goldest penny I have ever seen. Call me the alchemist but im just in chemistry class.
